Demolition Banner Flies At One Bayfront Plaza Supertall Site

A demolition banner has just been installed at the One Bayfront Plaza site in Downtown Miami, according to new photos by Phillip Pessar.

An interior demolition permit was approved by Miami’s Building Department on May 1.

The permit is for interior demolition of 278,000 square feet of space, at an estimated cost of $400,000.

B2 Group LLC is listed as the contractor.

County records show that the 19-story building on the site was built in 1958.

There does not yet appear to be any other demolition permits pending, other than for interior work.

Florida East Coast Realty, which has built some of Miami’s most prominent buildings over the decades, is planning a 1,049-foot supertall on the site that will become the city’s tallest.

This building is a big eyesore and attracts homeless. Can’t wait to see how different things will look in 2035 when it’s completed.

Yes. Brickell Place, among others, gotta go asap.

If Brickell Place could go, the Four Ambassadors would have been gone yesterday. Most likely, you’ll see the buildings from the 1960s and 1970s along Bay Point redeveloped.

I hope my grand children get to see the eventual new building on that site . It’s been in the works for almost 20 years!

Hopefully it’s not another implosion. 10,000+ cases of cancer from the exposure to the dust from the WTC collapse. It’s from the respirable silica in the dust cloud. The dust never goes away. It just keeps blowing around and around…

If this is actually built this is incredible news. FECR Will not struggle finding buyers for such a centrally located and groundbreaking project! Time for them to get in the race, even if they are late…

Demolition does not mean it’s going to be built.

Late?
Their first office tower was developed in the 1980’s.

This is beyond overdue. Do not get why this has taken so long with all the development taking place in the downtown/brickell area.

How will the new law DeSatan passed in Florida affect Miami construction? I’m assuming it’s going to take even longer to build things since there’s not going to be much workers…… 🙄

Tom

Good question. How stupid DeSatan is 🤦🏻‍♂️. He is banning and against everything. Poor state of Florida, where freedom dies.

In the largest metros in the United States, 4 out of the top 5 markets with the lowest unemployment rate in Florida.
Miami is best.
Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Indianapolis IN round out the top 5.

Maybe it is just a coincidence, or maybe people like to work in Florida.

Either companies have to follow the rules and employ temporary workers who can’t overstay, or more opportunity for skilled, native workers. Too bad the elite have gutted our vocational institutions, and told everybody to go to college for worthless degrees rather than learn a valuable trade.

Yes, how dare the State pass laws the Federal government refuses to enforce!

There are plenty of workers here, they just need to pay them well and benefits. Instead billionaire investors wanna hire illegals to abuse and underpay them.

nobody wants to do those jobs. that’s why illegals do them so they can provide for their families.
