Demolition, Construction Permits Submitted For Urban Core Site Where 400-Foot Tower Planned

Applications for new construction and total demolition permits have been submitted for a property near the former Omni.

The FAA also granted height approval last week for the new tower, at 380 feet above ground, or 388 feet above sea level.

According to the master construction permit filing with Miami’s Building Department, the new development will have 33 floors of multi-family rental, with 282 living units.

The estimated hard construction cost is listed as $93,423,201.

Review of the permit is not yet underway.

Review of a total demolition permit for the site is already underway, however.

G.T. McDonald is listed as the contractor on both the demo and construction permit.

yup def some positive changes with every development but still so many crappy lots sitting around. With such close proximity to everything this would be awesome to watch blossom into something great

Well, honestly, most of Biscayne Blvd from 36 St down needs major revamp. Lots of empty lots, boarded up buildings and chain link.

You forgot to mention the giant closed shopping mall.

True. It has potential for 50 years.

Empty lots

Everyone complaining of empty lots does realize that those lots used to have buildings on them before owners/developers tore them down to create the empty lots.

A&E District, not urban core. Fact.

A&E District is smack dab in the middle of the urban core.
