Demolition Continues At One Brickell City Centre Near-Supertall Site

Demolition crews are continuing to work at the site where the One Brickell City Centre near-supertall tower is planned, photos by Phillip Pessar show.

A demolition permit has been issued for one of the buildings on the site, Miami Building Department records show.

A second demolition permit for another building on the site is still in the review process.

A construction permit for the new 59-story, 977-foot office tower is also currently in review, after the full plans were filed in July.

Highest and best use coming up!… That old office building was really nice also.

This is where you put a super tall! In the center, not all on the bay to make a wall, and there will be even taller ones behind it in the future staggering up. Brickell has the best skyline in Miami.

You might want to take a look at how zoning works in Miami.

You may want to take a look at what isn’t working and adjust accordingly. It’s not 1960 anymore.

I suspect he has limited ability to understand even the most elementary urban planning practices.

Preserving the bay’s low and charming aesthetic while incorporating Super talls behind maintains its appeal, while creating more high value real estate. We need regulations that keep the natural push for profit to keep the city profitable in the future. Additionally, introducing low-rise structures along the street near Bayfront Park, rather than having the market distant from the street, could be beneficial.

Another beaut by Arquitectonica!

This won’t rise without a large pre-lease by a tenant. Has anyone heard of any interested prospective tenants?

Another hideous building by Arquitectonica. UGH!

Anon

you can not like it, we all have our own taste, but to call it hideous is just lazy (and dumb) (though you’re in sync with our current culture where every point of view is so extreme as to be absurd)

I’m obviously being sarcastic…ARQ is a great firm and I am merely ridiculing the typical feedback I see on this site.

obviously not obvious

By typical feedback, you mean that mong who writes “Another beaut by Arquitectonica!” on every post with an ARQ building, whether decent like this tower, or a box?
