A demolition permit to take down the rusty half-built Logik Tower is now in revision for the Miami Station property.
Logik was planned as a 30-story office building, with only five floors of shell built before construction stalled in 2008.
Earlier this year, the “shovel ready” site was sold to Chicago developer The John Buck Company, with construction permits moving through the approval process in recent months.
A demolition permit had been issued for the property in 2022, to make way for a new 42-story tower. It is now listed as expired.
On July 25, a revision request was filed with Miami’s Building Department for the demo permit, with the purpose to “underpin neighboring building for stabilization before demolition of existing structure,” according to a note added to the request.
The demolition revisions moved into review on August 16, and then to “corrections required” on August 23.
Miami Station is planned to rise 42 stories, and include 301 residential units, 244,000 square feet of office, and just over 7,000 square feet of retail.
Permits for site work, vertical construction, and tree replanting are also now in process with Miami’s Building Department.
