Demolition Permits Issued At Sentral Brickell Site

Multiple demolition permits have now been issued to clear the Sentral Brickell site, according to county records.

Sentral Brickell is going through the county approval and permitting process under their Rapid Transit Zoning plan.

Records show that six separate demolition permits have been issued for the site in recent days, for the six different parcels that make up the Sentral project.

The permits were issued individually between April 10 and April 21.

The newly issued demolition permits are for the following addresses:

  • 130 SW 8 ST
  • 120 SW 8 ST
  • 106 SW 8 ST
  • 102 SW 8 ST
  • 826 SW 1 AVE
  • 101 SW 9 ST

Office, apartments, and parking are among the current uses on the properties that will be cleared.

BG Group LLC is listed as the demolition contractor.

Sentral Brickell is planned as twin towers rising 43 stories (480 feet, north tower) and 31 stories (360 feet, south tower).

The project is planned to include:

  • 803 units (581 units in the north tower, 222 units in the south tower)
  • 11,137 square feet of ground-floor retail
  • 636 parking spaces hidden behind liner residential units, in an 11-story podium

Sieger Suarez is the architect.

PMG and Sentral are the developers.

Let’s activate this! Love the mid block pedestrian pass through, hope it’s nicely paved/landscaped with interior block retail and restaurants. Seeing developers do this in Wynwoood and creates a very nice sheltered zone for people to walk mid block and dine outside away from cars.

Across from AC Marriot mid block by were the orange swirly mural is… it is definitely a drive way and pasado, but could be utilized and designed as such if not already…

Nothing says “placemaking” to warrant recreation space than a “orange swirly mural.”

It does stand out… it would be cool if it was a lively paseo with restaurants like 240 NW 25th, Wynwood 25. They did a good job with that mid-block paseo.

It connects 8th to 9th mid block and would greatly enhance the pedestrian and outdoor experience if done right to attract patrons and liven up the mid block.

If only the other half of the block is redeveloped, and the mural can be removed as we won’t be forced to look at it…

A lot of these mega blocks are a part of the RTZ rezoning plan to activate the area.

yeah but the part that of the podium is not facing a sidewalk/street. It will eventually get completely hidden, as it should.
