Demolition Prep Underway At One Brickell City Centre

Demolition preparation work is underway at a building on the One Brickell City Centre site, according to photos by Phillip Pessar.

Records show that a demolition permit is still in review.

This would be the last remaining building needed to clear the site. Demolition of another building on the site has already been completed.

One Brickell City Centre is planned to have around 1.5 million leasable square feet of office.

The tower will rise to a height of 68 stories, or 977 feet, putting it just below supertall height.

Developers Swire Properties and Related Companies are partnering on the development.

In November, Swire Properties USA President Henry Bott said that negotiations with potential anchor tenants were ongoing.

NIKE I hope! Miami is far more on brand than Portland, and we could use a sneaker museum in Brickell.

Nike is trash. Even an Nike Residences in Overtown would be out of place.

Any major company relocating from Coral Gables or shitty warehouse in Doral.

New rule: Any Coral Gables business claiming to be in Miami should pay every Miami resident 5 cents each time they say it—or just refer to themselves as being in Miami-Dade or the Greater Miami Metropolitan Area if they’d rather not contribute to the city. Alternatively, let’s officially annex Coral Gables as a Miami borough and properly connect the areas. Or here’s a thought, Coral Gables has its own name recognition, and it’s a very prestigious one to be proud of on its own, so why not embrace it?

Downtown Miami Fashion District

Miami is emerging as a vibrant alternative for fashion companies facing high rents in NYC’s Garment District. Unlike the industrial feel of areas like Sunset Park, Miami offers a dynamic, creative culture and a business-friendly environment. Top fashion houses such as LVMH, Kering, Inditex, Nike, and PVH could find Miami’s atmosphere conducive to growth. Additionally, travel between Miami and Manhattan is efficient, facilitating trend-spotting and industry connections. With its unique blend of cultural influences and a growing community of designers and entrepreneurs, Miami is poised to become a significant global fashion hub!

PRAYING that does not happen. I’d rather the building be smaller at that point. We need more companies moving here and bringing good jobs

Brickell has become the City of Miamis urban concrete jungle with 50,000 residents and not one single open public park for kids or recreation. Pathetic!

So… Simpson Park, Brickell Park, Miami Circle, Southside Park, the Underline, Village Green… All those Brickell parks don’t count? And don’t forget the smaller pocket parks. Then cross over the river and let me know how many acres of parks you find in Bayfront, Bicentennial, that homeless central park next to the children’s courthouse, the Ferguson courthouse has that park with mini hills, Dan Paul park… Oh! And that new $60 million park under the signature bridge should tickle your pickle with over 33 acres.

I can keep going if you like. Margaret Pace, Biscayne Park……….

There’s no conceivable way that an office tower will rise here. The demand does not exist. Miami is not a business center.
