Demolition Progress At Brickell Site Where 70-Story Tower Planned

Significant progress is being made in recent weeks at the 1428 Brickell demolition site.

A total demolition permit was issued in March for a 10-story office building on the site to make way for a much larger tower.

On May 8, a tree removal and replacement permit was approved for the site.

The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a 70-story tower generating its own electricity with photovoltaic panels integrated into its glass curtain wall, will be built on the site following demolition.

The new tower will rise 861 feet, and is being designed by ACPV Architects, with architecture by Arquitectonica.

Ytech is the developer.

Completion is planned in 2027.

Lol. 40 years ago that was new and refined too. And 40 years from now we’ll be doing the same thing.

This building was too ugly to be adapted though. Sometimes they just need to be bulldozed.

The entire block to the north needs to go for Brickell’s next tallest.

I Love our skyline it is beautiful but I also feel it is forgettable. There are
not any iconic buildings in the bunch there just all modern pieces that kind of blend together even the Aston Martin or the which I really like just all blends with the whole white modern esthetic. Our skyline has been compared to Panama City’s skyline. We need a real statement piece. To set our skyline apart. I don’t think I have seen that yet

They’re coming. This one along with Mercedes Benz Places, the “calle 8” tower, the new Brickell City Centre super tall, and D&G will be iconic statement towers.

The only iconic tower that will make a statement on the skyline is the Waldorf.
