There’s activity at the site where Brickell megaproject 1 Southside Park is planned to be built.
Photos taken over the weekend show that demolition is now underway. County records show that a demolition permit has been approved, and a Notice of Commencement for the demo work was also filed.
There also appears to be other site work underway – possibly test foundation piles.
Developer JDS announced last month that they received a $43 million loan for acquisition and construction of the project.
The development would also become biggest ever rental project in downtown Miami and Brickell’s history – surpassing Melo Group’s 1,042-unit Downtown 5th towers now under construction. The developers said in late January that all of the 1,175 residential units would be rental apartments.
The project will also include 190,000 square feet of office, a 200-key hotel, and retail.
Plaza Construction is listed as the demolition contractor, with Brad Meltzer listed as the tradesman.
