Demolition Underway At Rem Koolhas Perigon Site In Miami Beach

A 15-story building is now being demolished in Miami Beach to make way for a tower designed by architect Rem Koolhaas’s OMA.

The new OMA-designed condo tower, known as The Perigon will rise 17 stories and include 73 units.

The 15-story building being demolished was known as the La Costa. It had around 120 condo units, before being bought out by developers Mast Capital and Starwood Capital Group.

Interior demolition of the La Costa will continue over the next several months, followed by structural demolition, according to the city.

There will not be an implosion, with the demolition planned to be “conventional.”

Moss is the construction contractor.
