Across from the Resorts World Miami property, demolition is now underway to make way for a hotel tower.
Mandala Holdings is planning to build a 40-story hotel designed by architect Allan Shulman. It will include 270 rooms.
To clear the site, contractor Thunder Demolition applied for a demolition permit in early May. The permit states that a 4,457 square-foot building is being demolished at a cost of $21,000.
A construction permit to begin building the new hotel has not been applied for yet.
