DERM Permits Applied For At Casa Bella, The Crosby

Two towers planned in the downtown Miami area, are moving forward with DERM permitting, with groundbreaking planned soon.

Casa Bella by B&B Italia is planned as a 57-story tower with 317 luxury condo units at 1400 Biscayne Boulevard.

The developers applied for a dewatering permit from Miami Dade’s Environmental Resources Management, records from November show.

A construction permit and demolition permit for Casa Bella has already been applied for from Miami’s Building Department.

The developers also signed a deal for the county to supply water and sewer utilities service to Casa Bella.

The Crosby is planned in Miami Worldcenter as a 33-story tower, with 450 units.

Records show that a Domestic Wastewater Collection/Transmission System Construction Permit was issued by DERM for The Crosby on November 21.

The Crosby is in the construction permitting with Miami’s Building Department. A water and sewer utilities deal for the project was signed in July.

To me, the design of the Crosy tower looks much better than the design of the Casa Bella tower.

To me, the design of The Crosby tower makes even Arquitectonica look like a good architectural firm sometimes. It’s another mediocre box with peculiar balconies placement, and contrary to what we were promised for Miami Worldcenter.

Building is a box is one of the most, 1st. semester of architecture, design-casual comment ever. Please do not use it anymore, you sound 19 yr old

Part of the genting sale…deserves a mixed use tower as a signature transportation hub for the area

I’ve been wondering about that as well. It was a good fit. Nice glass and nonresidential look.

The Casa Bella is GORGROUS. The wave-like balconies fit in so well in Miami, and are unique. No other city in the US has these and can pull it off quite so magnificently as we do! This should be a signature design element carried through future high rises in Brickell and Central Downtown. It makes the other rectangular blocks looking buildings in other cities look lifeless.

Crosby looks better. There I said it.

Why, because it looks like a more glassy Melo atrocity?

RenRich

No, more glass and thought put in to it. Yes it looks typical residential, but at least it looks like a little more thought was put into the details. Not a typical puked out Melo ,build it fast for filler. I like the filler. I also think the filler should compliment the rapidly growing skyline that truly is becoming, the magic city.

From NW 11th st and Miami ave going north, and all the way up to 38th st and Miami ave and going east to Biscayne Bay, going back south to NW 11 st and Biscayne Blvd (which would be a complete rectangle), need tall and taller buildings like the Crosby to be even in the conversation of “World Class.”

The Brickell City Center supertall is going to really make Miami ,the true monster skyline of the South. So much good stuff about to explode on the scene. Can’t wait for 2026!

They are both pretty boring, no surprise there. Miami has a very boring skyline, for a city with such potential, like the natural light, the waterfront, the amount of land that was available, in times when engineering and construction are so advanced. Oh well

the quality of buildings depends a lot on the budget available for construction. an architect named Adrian smith designed a building called one river which was announced on TNM. that tower was labeled a boring box by some of the readers of this blog. is Mr. smith a mediocre architect? no, he is the same architect that designed Burj Khalifa one of the world’s most iconic buildings. so how could Mr. smith design a spectacular tower like Burj Khalifa and then design a mediocre building like one river? it’s because of the budget, he had a budget of 1.5 billion for Burj Khalifa and probably around 30 million for one river so it’s all about the money. it’s very simple to understand but some people will never get it

Hilarious!

30 million dollars to design a project on the river in Miami?

Heck, I’ll design you a complex on Mars for that much!

Yes that is true in a sense. Design is a challenge. But sometimes the lesser expense design becomes looking better than the more expensive design. The trick is to mix just enough quality while working with what you have. We can do that – and we still have a lot of resources to make it happen.

It’s certainly getting better now that the wave of boring infill is almost complete.

Gari you’re tripping. Nobody can believe that. It’s not a competition. Brickell has the most modern impressive designs in Miami and the new ones going up are going to stun! Brickell welcomes better designs in Downtown because it only makes Brickell more valuable.

I know. But, it’s not over yet! There’s 5 towers planned to reach 1000ft and they all look pretty epic!
