Developer Gets Utilities To Build 310 Residential Units In Wynwood

Miami-Dade has agreed to modify a utilities agreement for a new residential complex called 2000 Wynwood.

According to the modified agreement entered on November 13, the county will supply utilities for:

  • 310 residential units
  • 1,000 square feet of full service restaurant
  • 11,351 square feet of retail

The 12-story development is also planned to include 308 parking spaces, according to June 2023 presentations to the Wynwood Design Review Committee and Miami’s Urban Development Review Board. Both boards voted to recommended approval.

A demolition permit and construction permit are both in process. Suffolk Construction is listed as the general contractor on the construction permit.

Leo A Daly is the architect.

The developer is Clearline Real Estate, which just secured $95M to build the 24-story Excel Miami nearby with 424 apartments.

More density! Yay! Can’t wait for Wynwood to be fully walkable and connected to Downtown!

But we need the Metromover to be extended to Wynwood to truly connect the neighborhood to Downtown!

Paint pride rainbows on Metromover cars!

That’s fine with me. I like cities that inhabit smart, loving people, that celebrate everyone.

I love the idea. It would certainly make them prettier.

Oh sure, it’ll be very walkable when the streets have giant flyovers and attract crime, and Metromover’s core riders after trust fund babies, can see right through your window.

I got a different take on the Metromoverhumpers—they are wannabe strivers hoping to one day take the stretch living in a trendy area they can’t afford by foregoing car ownership and taking free Metromover everywhere and beyond.

Maybe we don’t want to sit in traffic for 30 minutes to go two miles! This is… wait for it… a major city! If you don’t like public transit… major urban centers probably aren’t for you.

^^Metromover takes no cars off the road. It’s mostly used by carless bums and picture snapping tourists and bored office workers on their lunch break. You’ll still be sitting in traffic, and taxpayers will be paying up their yingyangs for expansion.

Maybe the county should have squandered money further, and picked Jaguar to refurbish those obsolete, low-capacity beer can shortbuses.

And bike lanes and sidewalks with pride rainbows!!! And Metromover stations with designated safe spaces!!!

Every place should be safe. We want law and order, but we also want freedom and expression. There are Republicans who waive pride flags, ride bikes, and take trains; and Democrats who drive and marry the opposite sex. It’s all a part of the human condition, let’s keep politics about policies not identities.

Solid building, and no cheesy mural or parking podium too!

A nightclub and/or bars would be nice in this building. It would bring a lot of people from edgewater from 20th st just by walking

Very interesting. So I did some research on this building. The design used to be Architectonica’s and looked horrible. They replaced the architect with Leo A Daly and it looks way better.

They broke down the size and added liner units
