Developer Signs Utilities Agreement For 389-Unit Apartment Tower In Midtown Miami

Developer AMLI has completed a utilities agreement that will allow their Midtown 7 apartment tower to move forward with construction.

According to the October 26 deal with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, Midtown 7 will include:

  • 389 apartments
  • 27,615 square feet of retail
  • 501 parking spaces (as per a UDRB filing – not included in the utilities deal)

The connection charge for water and sewer utilities is estimated at $386,386.23. There’s also an additional Biscayne Basin Sanitary Sewer Special Connection Charge estimated at $234,374.48.

Arquitectonica is the architect.

The project was submitted to the UDRB for review in September. There does not yet appear to be a construction permit pending.

Another fine addition to midtown, The Standard needs to start already too. Hope there is a metromover stop on that lot where the walmart was suppose to be eventually.

Another beaut by Arquitectonica!

Literally, one of their few solid building in recent memory where the parking garage doesn’t look like a total mess.

The last time they expanded metromover was in ’94. It’s ridiculous that they haven’t paid attention to it in 3 decades.

Maybe because expanding a thirty-mile-an-hour people mover with less capacity than an airport doesn’t make sense? We have Metrorail and two existing railroads for Tri-Rail and Brightline, to serve the purpose of mass transit outside of Greater Downtown Miami.

TriRail basically serves the western corridor by the airport and Brightline wasn’t built to be a local route commuter train. The Metromover is a perfect system to get around most place in air-conditioned splendor and all it needs is expansion. Now, if you feel the need to stuff more people in the cars with you when you ride it or need to go faster than it does, I suggest you buy your own personal jet and formula one race car.

Say goodbye to any streetscape potential, all because you don’t want to pay a Brightline fare where a station is proposed in walking distance.

two different modes of transit, metromover would have stops every couple of blocks. Use critical thinking

I would be happy with a light-rail or a Tram. It looks a whole lot cleaner. And its easier to expand

Great. The tower has a great location, practically in the center of Midtown.

Not bad for Arquitectonica. Not bad at all.

Hope they bring more building facades and car-free streets like this to Brickell, especially in the new developing parts of West Brickell.

“car-free streets?”

isn’t that an oxymoron?

Anonymous

I don’t. If you want car free streets, move to rural Utah.

That alley/plaze is already there with benchs, just going to get slight wider with this building.
