Developer Submits Plans To Build Twin 500-Foot Towers In Fort Lauderdale

A developer has submitted plans to build twin towers in Fort Lauderdale.

Developer BH3 is based in Fort Lauderdale.

The two towers are both proposed to rise 472 feet above sea level to the roof, or 500 feet to the top of an enclosure.

The two combined towers of BH3’s proposed project would include a total of:

  • 612 condo units
  • 74,246 square feet of retail/commercial
  • 890 parking spaces (in an 8-story parking podium)

Sieger Suarez of Miami is the architect.

Fort Lauderdale’s Development Review Committee is scheduled to hear the plans at a meeting today (January 11).

The scale of this project is impressive and I love the odd brutalist/industrial stylistic combinations. Interesting for sure.

It has a 70’s, 80’s vibe but it strangely looks very modern too. I think it’s a great addition to FLL’s skyline.

I started to go to glitch bar about four years ago and that area has changed like Miami did during the 2006 real estate boom.

I remember when Lazerwolf opened, in like 2010. I had always felt that Fort Lauderdale’s growth was limited by the fact that it was a place you either retired in, or raised kids in. But there was little reason for young professionals who had gone to college to return to the city. Now it’s entirely different. They’ve done a great job of bridging that gap between 1-18 and 45-90.

I love Miami, but in pure logistical terms, I think Fort Lauderdale is amazing–so long as you’re east of i95. You can actually live downtown and get to the beach reasonably. There are loads of viable ways to get around the town outside of major highways. You can end up North or South of downtown to like Oakland Park or Hollywood and still get to downtown in a reasonable time for work, and even avoid major highways.

Its going to change soon tho. City is booming faster than it can keep up with. Good density downtown is going to be integral.

Fort Lauderdale APPROVES and BUILDS FAST. Much less layers of bureaucracy to go through. Expect to see this rising relatively quickly.

Great! Hopefully the old one-stop shop becomes a park and not an outdoor concert venue across the street.

Actually one of the nicer projects for Fort Lauderdale. Compared to the others we have been seeing.

Seems like a good additon! This area of Fort Lauderdale needs this development bad! Drive through that area on a Saturday night and it is dead! Approve and get building!

Agree. That exposed brick makes it look like a dead mall somewhere up north.

We need more brick, and done correctly. Incorrectly i.e., “dead mall somewhere up north” is more akin to Metrorail station architecture.

The Metro Rail station downtown is an award winning design, FYI

Still better than BIG’s gimmicky Pez box towers several years back.

This is great! We don’t have enough traffic issues downtown, so this should help. :/

these look extremely dated. Reminds me of the Portofino tower on south beach which surprisingly enough was design by the same architect in the in the 90’s…..Shit design then and shit design Now!

why twin towers? pools are in shade almost all the time, so many units facing inwards with no view.

Love the idea but the building looks outdated to me

I’m glad some people like it, unfortunately I have to live near it. I liked the design they were publishing in December. It looks just like the dorms I lived in in college. Not so iconic. Wish we had the new buildings and newish buildings in Atlanta. If it were a little warmer there I would move. I like Miami’s buildings much better

Enough greedy development! Miami might be a nice place to visit but I would NEVER want to live there!. And what about the environment? ..and congestion? Pollution!..and our water shortage? ..and this will add to our flooding problem. What about the citizens that have lived here and it’s getting to be unrecognizable..in a bad way.

Once again we have someone who wants over the top buildings but want them to have low rents. You also can’t have dubai level buildings without dubai labor cost and many dubai towers aren’t even connected to the sewage system because it wasn’t built in many areas. a

To him, many of the buildings in Dubai are ugly also.
