Miami Dade’s Division of Environmental Resources Management issued a Class V dewatering permit yesterday that will allow for foundation work at the Baccarat Residences site.
The permit expires on June 7, 2022. The issue date was March 7.
Here’s a summary of the project description listed on the permit:
Dewatering activities are required for the construction of foundation elements of a development located at 77 SE 5 Street, City of Miami. Water will be pumped from open excavations of several sizes located in different zones through all the working area and routed to 21,000 gallons capacity sedimentation tank(s) prior to be discharged into four (4) temporary deep dewatering wells. Sheet piles cofferdams will be installed around excavation/dewatering zones. All dewatering operations will be performed on-site. Estimation of flow rates fluctuates between 226 to 1256 GPM.
John Moriarty & Associates is listed as the contractor on the permit.
Later today, a group called the Brickell Homeowners Association says it will be having a meeting with the Historic Preservation Board to discuss the archeological site.
