Dezer Gets Approval To Build The Tallest Tower In Sunny Isles

Dezer Properties has been granted approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to build the tallest tower in Sunny Isles.

The developer will be permitted to build up to 743 feet above ground, or 749 feet above sea level. That is about 100 feet taller than any other building in Sunny Isles.

The approval is for a property at 18401 Collins Avenue that is currently occupied by the Days Hotel by Wyndham Thunderbird Beach Resort. Dezer Hotel Management Ltd is the owner of the motel, which will be demolished.

Dezer’s approval is for height only, and the developer has not yet submitted architectural plans for the property to the city yet.

Some of the buildings in Sunny Isles currently at the 649 foot level include Porsche Design Tower, Mansions at Acqualina, Muse, Ritz-Carlton Residences, Turnberry Ocean Club Residences and Residences by Armani Casa.

Earlier this year, The Trump Group obtained approval to build the twin-tower Estates At Acqualina project at 700 feet above sea level, or 692 feet above ground, which would have been the tallest in the city. Last week, the developer was approved by the FAA for heights that were revised downwards: 667 feet above ground for the north tower, and 646 feet above ground for the south tower.

Dezer’s new building would be the fourth tallest in the Miami area and the state of Florida if built today. Panorama Tower, Four Seasons, and Southeast Financial Tower are the only buildings now taller (although others are planned or under construction, including Aston Martin Residences).

The new tower would rise just south of the 649-foot Turnberry Ocean Club and the 649-foot Porsche Design Tower, surpassing each by about 100 feet (photo from last year):

Yeah some of their designs absolutely embarrass some in the city of Miami.

I can’t stop laughing how close Soffer’s Turnberry Ocean Club is to Dezer’s penis !! LMAO

Anonymous

Damn dude, you must have “penis” on your mind a lot, don’t you?

Anonymous

Anonymous

Nope naaahhh, not confused.. you fantasize about penises.

Is it just me, or do these new buildings become boring and redundant after a while?

Let me guess, it will have a state-of-the-art gym and European kitchens?

There are some real special buildings in Sunny Isles it’s a shame they are all squeezed in by Next Door Neighbors

Anonymous

How would it be fourth tallest? What about one thousand museum, marquis, paramount, flatiron?

Anonymous

They are all are below 749 ft

Wow. I actually can’t believe I misread this whole article lol. You’re definitely right tho, I was thinking 700 feet.

So the article is about the demise of Golden Nugget, Ocean Shore, Thunderbird in that order working southward leaving out southern most Blue Grass which is still there but without its sign because no one cares. How great it would be for another city up the coast to recreate the Vegas style motels that were a crowd draw without destroying sunlight and the beaches. When you could still call Shady Isles by it’s given name–North Miami Beach. Now hurricanes bring the ocean all the way up to your condo building to your door. Oh, they’ll just re-dredge and put sand back like they’ve done before. You know it’s only a matter of time before Neptune takes them all in. Too close to shoreline. So why now Thunderbird? Can’t let Jeff have all the fun even if he did wedge one into Dezer’s line. Me? I’ll skip the nose bleed section, thank you. Nothing like terra firma.

As usual, these Shyster developers get anything they want by greasing the hands of corrupted politicians while destroying the quality of life . The only people who buy these places are shady Russians and corrupted politicians.

You have people crying about towers in Sunny Isles, towers and night clubs in south Miami Beach, night clubs and houses in Coconut Grove, towers and places in them to park in Miami, areas where new apartments are proposed in Miami, etc etc etc…..

Really, how does anything get done in this city and county?

I heard the penthouse will have views of the McDonalds and the Chevron station. One can only dream…

There is no rendering. Can this be a 65 story tower With more market rated 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedrooms up to 4,000 Sq. Ft. But more budget friendly? Can it have a resort style pool deck with a large pool with tropical landscaping, cascading waterfalls and a water slide? Tell Dezer.
