Plans have been filed to build a Holiday Inn Express in Edgwater, replacing a proposal for a Hilton condo-hotel on the same site.
The Bentley Edgewater was originaly proposed to have 207 condo-hotel rooms, but developers were only able to pre-sell 45 units, leading to its cancellation, according to The Real Deal. Banks wanted 65 percent in pre-sales before offering a construction loan.
At one time, the project was also advertised as having Marriott branding.
Instead, plans have been filed for a Holiday Inn Express on the same site. The plans were filed last week.
Developer Heafey Group is also said to no longer be involved.
