Nonstop To Israel: El Al Is Adding Miami-Tel Aviv Flights Next Year

Miami will finally have a nonstop flight to Israel again next year, Globes is reporting (in Hebrew.)

El Al Israel Airlines is set to return to the route. The announcement was made in Miami Beach today after a meeting between Mayor Phillip Levine and Knesset member Ayoob Kara, according to the website.

El Al operated service on the route with a fuel-guzzling 767 until 2008, but was forced to cancel the flight after oil spiked to nearly $150 per barrel.

Tel Aviv is Miami’s busiest unserved international market without nonstop service, with an estimated 250 people flying between the two cities every day.
