FAA Approves 989-Foot Construction Crane In Brickell

The FAA has issued approval for a 989-foot construction crane at the Summit Brickell site.

The application for height approval for the crane was submitted on November 21, and issued on December 13.

Summit Brickell recently completed the zoning review process with Miami-Dade, and is currently moving through site plan approval with the country (site plan review began about a year ago).

The tower is planned to rise 65-stories, or 750 feet.

It will include 505 residential units, 1,933 square feet of ground floor retail, and 500 spaces in an internalized garage.

Very elegant building . Like it more than the waldorf. Too bad it’s shorter .

I know we don’t appreciate it now but the WA will eventually look stunning. Moreover, it will define our skyline until other supertalls are built.

How so? They haven’t gotten to the “Xth” stacked box yet?

WA could benefit from the elimination of one or two boxes.

The Waldorf, the angles are more aggressive which makes it a look at me kind of tower.

On the street level, it looks like a dead zone.

Except for the top box on WA that looks like a sore thumb.

Decent looking tower but the ground floor sucks the life out of the street. The parking garage is rather stark looking as well.

Whole Foods is trash. Fresh Market would be the better option, even Milam’s.

Gorgeous architecture for Miami’s skyline…

Well it’s better than the previous proposal from several years back, but too bad the crappy postwar apartment house and 7-Eleven aren’t included.

very nice building but i wish they could make it more lighter and less grayer in color. leave the lifeless grey buildings for manhattan.

Those buildings are all masonry. Even Miamis nicest buildings use stucco, the cheapest of cladding options.

I’ll take Manhattan’s brick and limestone buildings over glass and stucco, however.

Taller better

Should be 69 storeys and 800 ft.

Great building…Miami development (when you adjust for total population and land area) is running circles around NYC

Why do you keep trolling here with that tired comparison? I’d love to know.
