FAA Approves Supertall Height For One Brickell City Centre At 1,049 Feet

The Federal Aviation Administration has given the green light to build the supertall tower known as One Brickell City Centre.

According to a July 15 letter to developer Swire Properties, the tower is permitted to rise 1,040 feet above ground, or 1,049 feet above sea level.

Related Companies, controlled by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, is partnering with Swire on the project.

The FAA had previously approved the 1,049-foot height in both 2015 and 2018. However, the 2018 approval order was scheduled to expire in June 2022 if construction was not yet underway.

The 1,049 foot height is the tallest ever approved in Miami (there are a number of others also approved for the same height).

One Brickell City Centre will have 1.6 million square feet of Class A office space, in a tower designed by Arquitectonica.

Construction will begin in 2023.

Fantastic. Towers like this really transform Miami, attracting companies, generating business, income, employment and taxes.

Yes. I’ll be going crazy if two or three of these start going up together. Okan, WA, and this one.

Crazy thing Apple and Amazon canceled their new NewYork office leases. Think a relocation to Miami might be in the works

Let’s hope so! Would love to see Apple, Amazon and other tech companies migrate here.

I’m fine without those uber left leaning companies here.

Apple and Amazon have a presence in Texas and I don’t see it being turned into California 2.0 anytime soon, so long as another bamboozling bill like the 1986 amnesty for illegals isn’t pushed.

Yes! Bring on the unfriendly virtue signaling NIMBYS that have led to more tent cities, crime, riots, traffic, unaffordability, and do nothing police and DAs in every other big city! I can’t wait!

“Do nothing police” Um, are you new here? Our police force is the laughing stock of the developed world.

“Doing nothing” would be an improvement over being Carollo’s attack dogs.

Um, if were a rightie, the last things I would complain about or mention is “crime, riot, and do nothing police.” Not after what the world saw on January 6, 2021.

A bunch of towers capped at the same height in each neighborhood is like San Diego but taller.

The more the merrier! As someone who has lived here for more than a decade, I can say that since the great migration, Miami has become a much better city. Keep on coming, New Yorkers!

LOL, what kind of fool do you have to be to build an office tower at this point. WE know remote work is the future and those office vacancies are through the roof… but sure make another office building.

just wait til unemployment rates normalize in the upcoming recession, WFH will be a distant memory

Uhhh

Have you been under a rock Ana? Most companies are dragging employees back into the office whilst with others employees are begging to go back, at least according to articles I’ve read. Remote work works, but just like staying home from school/work for more than a week, it gets boring and makes you lazy because you get too comfortable and complacent. The only people calling it the future are the introverts who’ve probably thought I’d never Happen and lazy people whom prefer to work at their own pace and want it to remain like that.

I have not read anywhere where employees are begging to goback. Quite the opposite. Pay 5 bucks a gallon to drive to the office so you can hear extroverts can gossip, not a priority for most lol.

“Pay 5 bucks a gallon to drive to the office to hear gossip.” Exactly. Not to mention wasting 1-2 hours a day sitting in traffic. No thanks. I’m an attorney and don’t know any coworkers or friends that want to go back to the office. Everyone I know universally hates office culture and have seen their lives dramatically change since WFH started.

Sorry Mailman, you will just have to get your socialization fix from outside of the office.

Anonymous

It depends. If your job is to write legal briefs or java script, WFH works just fine. If your job is to hand out tacos and Pepsi, then not so much.

Remote work is for millennials who were told all their life they have ASSburgers, and use it as an excuse when they are more than able to live normally, and will tardrage when being the first to be laid off.

In English, things like this are usually given feminine pronouns. Think boats, cities, etc. #themoreyouknow

Anonymous

Which stems from gender stereotypes & “beauty” being considered a uniquely feminine quality back in the day. It is a bit antiquated tbh but who really cares much either way. “He, she” it can be whatever you want. It’s a building lol.

I think this particular building identifies as non-binary and uses xe/xem/xyr pronouns. How fucking dare you assume xem identity.
