Art Plaza’s first tower has topped off at 34 stories in a remarkably short time.
The roof of the east tower was poured yesterday, according to shell contractor L&R Structural. It took less than 10 months, L&R said.
Piling equipment was first spotted on the site in late November 2017, with foundation pour and crane installation in March 2018.
By comparison, Aston Martin Residences broke ground in October 2017 and still isn’t out of the ground, with foundation contractors now regularly working into the night (although it is a much taller and more complex project). Ritz Carlton Residences in Sunny Isles (also much taller and more complex) topped off this week after breaking ground in June 2016 – two and a half years ago.
Across the street, Melo completed the twin-tower Square Station project in a similarly short time frame, topping off in under a year. Groundbreaking there took place in October 2016, with top off in September 2017. Move-ins began in spring 2018, and the towers were 75% leased by August.
When complete, Art Plaza will include 655 apartments in twin 34-story towers.
