Vertical construction is now underway at Excel Miami, which will have 427 apartments.
Shawmut Design and Construction, a $2 billion national construction management firm, said on December 10 that it had broken ground on the development.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held December 9. At the time, Shawmut said a mat foundation pour would be completed in weeks, and a tower crane installed.
Photos taken January 5 by Ryan RC Rea show the crane is now in place.
Clearline Real Estate is the developer.
The groundbreaking was attended by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Commissioner Damian Pardo , Clearline Real Estate Founder and CEO Jenny Bernell, Shawmut CEO Les Hiscoe, Shawmut head of Florida Alexis Leal, and members of the project team.
