First Glass Installed At 41-Story Complex In Edgewater

Edgewater’s under-construction 2600 Biscayne tower has had its first glass installed as it continues to rise.

The massive mixed-use development takes up a fully city block, one block away from a planned Northeast Corridor rail stop.

The tower is planned to reach a height of 521 feet upon completion.

It is planned to include 399 luxury apartments, 187,000 square feet of office and retail, and over 600 parking spaces.

More than 50% of the office and retail was leased before breaking ground.

An Equinox gym will be located in the development, according to The Real Deal. The luxury fitness chain reportedly has leased 30,700 square feet.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the 41-story tower took place in April 2024, with a crane installed in July and a foundation pour in August.

Arquitectonica is the architect. Coastal Construction is the contractor.

Oak Row Equities is the developer.

Ehhh not the worst spot. Pretty central between the cluster of bldgs at Midtown and those at Margaret Pace. Could even pull from Wynwood bldgs near the NW 27th crossing

We need more fitness centers like we need more Wawas, vape shops, and self-service storage.

This is going up fast. Hopefully it all succeeds. There’s no reason the NE Corridor can’t be done by 2030.

The Design District is right there if you’re such a brand wh*re. They are building office and incredible high end buildings.

Why so defensive? Stop being a Miami hater.

1. The Design District is about 17 blocks away from Edgewater.
2. Great news that they are building more buildings, and great news for Edgewater.
3. Defensive? There is nothing to defend. It isn’t an argument or a rap battle. Brickell and Edgewater are simply different. This should be obvious to anyone with an IQ higher than Miami’s current temperature.

Call it what it is, the new Edgewater.

Is that a parking garage or an f-ing elementary school at the backside of the base of this box tower?

We’re planting the Metromover and Metrorail seed for our children and grandchildren to sit under.

No one can afford the architectural and construction fees associated with more elaborate designs. You get what you can afford.

B.S. considering Arquitectonica designed better buildings in the past, like Paramount on the Bay.

The designers being able to design is not the issue, its developers not having the capital to invest into these elaborate designs.

Especially not in a multifamily rental like this property will be. The aston martin and ritz residences are different since those are condos. But multifamily developers can’t afford the crazy and elaborate designs from the construction side.
