First Tower Cranes Installed At Downtown 5th After FAA Approves Three Of Them

Downtown 5th has had its first cranes installed.

Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration granted approval for three tower cranes to be installed at the project site.

One crane will reach 591 feet above ground, with the other two to reach 550 feet above ground. The permanent tower heights will be 495 feet above ground.

Downtown 5th is the biggest ever residential project in Miami’s Central Business District, with 1,042 apartments and 12,506 square feet of retail. Twin towers will rise over 50 floors each.

Melo Group is the developer.

Melo may not build iconic structures but not every damn building in the city needs to be iconic…all of there buildings are full of people wanting to live in the city…and are well maintained providing retail in places that never had it… that’s not a bad thing…

Yeah I have passed by their buildings on fifteen and they’re packed with residents and I noticed the retail is nearly filled.

Next, a 1000 footer on NW 8th st between NW 1st Ave and NW Miami Ave since it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a convention center on that site.

Move along, nothing fishy here about how quick this “review” was. Melo = the new MCM banana republic company.

another melonstruosity, so sad, that we have to settle for mediocrity.

Man, I understand.. but we got tired of waiting on you to put something on those same lots that the Melo Group redeveloped. 5, 10, 15, twenty, and more years went by and you just let those lots sit there empty and devoid of anything! Why did you just let the Melo Group take over?

Please explain to us why you never did anything.
