Five-Story Home Proposed In South Beach, Will House Three Generations Of Women With Rooftop Pool & Fire Pit

A South Beach property owner wants to build a unique five-story vertical home designed to “house three generations of women.”

The property is a tiny 2,829 square feet, but the owner wants to go vertical and build a total of 3,417 square feet of interior space.

At the ground floor will be a driveway under the building with space for two cars, and an entrance area with a stairway and elevator.

The second floor will have two bedrooms for a mother and her daughter.

Level three will have a living room, dining room and kitchen, along with an outdoor pool deck.

A master bedroom with its own terrace and sitting area will be located on level four.

Level five will have an outdoor fire pit and barbecue area, with another terrace on level six.

Kathia Jimenez and Brigitte Neuhauser are listed as the owners, with Gabriel Lopez the architect.

The Miami Beach Design Review Board will review the plans in September.

I am pretty sure you can’t sell or rent to just one specific gender. This would be discrimination and btw this whole idea is quite dumb.

I’m PRETTY sure the “three generations” part implies it’s for a family…

FuThSh does a family have to include men? Families can be made of all women . And what if this family has a male child, would they disqualify as now the third generation is no longer a woman? I mean, I don’t know why we are even debating this dumb idea but I’m on the toilette and this thread seems appropriate.

OMG this isn’t that big of a deal. There is a woman, with a daughter, who wants to live with her mother. She builds a home. That’s three generations of women. Calm down, jesusFchrist

dom’t talk about my mama like that

I think FuThSh meant don’t worry about renting or selling to only one gender because “generations” implies a family regardless if it’s truly all one gender or not. Either way, FHA and other precedents exist that provide guidelines on how municipalities can define a family for zoning and housing purposes to prevent discrimination.

Where are we getting this whole selling/renting to one gender thing from? It isn’t implied this would be rented or sold, so I’m under the assumption this is intended for private use by the owners.

it’s not discrimination if you own it and it is fewer than 4 units.

What’s the difference ?! It’s not going to block anybody’s view. Century Ln is squeezed between The Lido and The Vista’s Condo.
