Formula One Racing Exec Says Miami Grand Prix Drawing Huge Buzz: ‘Never Seen Anything Like It’

Formula One holds races around the worldwide, but the upcoming Miami Grand Prix is generating buzz that the sport has never seen before, a racing executive told Reuters.

Zak Brown, who heads McLaren, said the Miami race was turning into a Super Bowl-like event for Formula One.

Top celebrities are among those who are clamoring for tickets, he said.

Brown said he had been around F1 for 20 years, but had never seen the demand or buzz that the Miami event was generating.

McLaren is hosting 1,000 guests (including A-list celebrities), but Brown said demand has been so high that the guest list could easily be doubled.

I wish it was on Biscayne Blvd again

Agreed, the Miami gardens location really caps the potential in my view. Should be in a downtown loop

The plan is to make Biscayne a more residential street in the Downtown area. They are building coffee shops in the middle of it and once the Biscayne green plans takes place, they will also reduce car lanes, add a bike lane and more green space.

Thank you.

Geezz, some people want everywhere to look and be like a suburban neighborhood in this town.

No they won’t reduce car lanes, but keep wishing. Yep, YOU decided to live in a crowded downtown with a crowded US Highway. Live with it.

^^He moved to a downtown, and now wants it to resemble the quiet suburb he grew up in. No more F1 races, no more Ultra, close down US1 so he can walk his dog in quiet peace..guy wants Kendale Lakes but can’t bring himself to admit it.

There you go. Reality. If you don’t like the grit get out of downtown. No scooters. Every year they go after Ultra, F1 was supposed to be in downtown , what do say DNA , too much for your dog park ?

I’ll believe it when I see it.

The plan …if you’ve been around downtown , you’ve heard the same year after year. Yet here we are. Block after block of blighted streets. There is no plan. How many restaurants had to close during the two years it took to do Flagler by the courthouse…and now they have to redo that block again.

Years ago in the 90s and 80s they used to race the Indy and IMSA cars in Downtown Miami. Then a bunch of suburbanites moved into the city and said NIMBY. So it went to Miami Gardens where it’s also not wanted there by the neighbors. So, just bring it back Downtown where it really belongs.

No, I just bought the penthouse at the Waldorf Astoria, no more Ultra, Grand Prix downtown. We just want Sunday Easter mass at Bayfront Park once a year.

All I wanna do is just fall asleep downtown on a nice quiet park bench while listening to chirping birds.

Sorry but I’m just boring…

Go back to Idaho or Montana where you belong… We will NOT be hushed by the likes of you. You have NO idea what’s coming to downtown and none of you will be able to stop it

Anyone notice that their “yacht club” is just a bunch of dry-docked yachts with no water?

All of these visitors are in for a rude awakening when they realize the race isn’t on South Beach…

Pricing has been a joke as well–$900 for GA access with minimal views–you could fly to Austin for COTA, buy Grandstand tickets, and split an AirBnB for the same costs.

Do u really think nobody that bought tickets did their research on where the race is? They’re way too expensive for that lol

It’s funny how they’re smart enough to buy a yacht but he thinks they’re just too dumb to realize what they’re buying and getting with those tickets.

For most events people understand that the stadium, race track or major concert might be in the suburbs.

I’ve been told the tickets for Austin are double this year so its not cheap like it used to be. Prices are rising for the sport as it grows more popular in the US (likely thanks to the netflix series).

ITT: Bring F-1 racing back downtown, when there were no little to no residential towers, but at the same time, put speed bumps on Biscayne Boulevard, a major U.S. Highway. LOL…

leave a couple of big events for the suburbs, the area around hard rock stadium is seeing some development , the residents of miami gardens deserve to see their neighborhood develop into a very decent neighborhood

no they don’t… they are fighting this F1 race, they say it will wreck their quality of life in crime ridden MG.

I watch ActionKid and Walks on Wall Street on YouTube who are based in Miami and it does seem that everyone is talking about the race this year …
