Foundation Permit Issued At Miami Freedom Park Soccer Stadium Site

A phased foundation permit has been issued at the Miami Freedom Park construction site, according to Miami Building Department records.

The phased foundation permit was issued by Miami’s Building Department on June 5 to contractor Lemartec Corporation.

Activity can already be seen at the site.

Miami Freedom Park will eventually include a 25,000-seat multi-purpose MLS stadium, a 58-acre public park, over 1 million square feet of commercial retail, entertainment, amusement, and office space along with three hotels totaling 750 rooms. Total value is estimated at $1 billion.

They better have some kind of plan for public transit here

It’s right next to the MIC which has both Metrorail and Tri-Rail stops. A pedestrian bridge across the canal leading right from the station to the stadium is planned.

I was hoping they install a culvert so that the pedestrian access is at a grade. No need to go up and down stairs/escalators. That same canal is mostly buried by the airport already.

Miami Airport Station – Metrorail, Metrobus, maybe Amtrak – Planes Trains and ….

I agree however It is not their job to provide public transportation, that would be the county and their cities responsibility.

The county and city are part of the development team as a P3. A Metrorail extension down NW 37th Avenue is a must.

there is a metrorail station within walking distance of the stadium so most people could do park at a metro stop and ride over

So am I the only one thinking a stadium next to an airport is going to be awfully noisy?

Anonn

Stadium is on the northeast corner, not directly under the flight path. Driving range at Melreese used to be in that corner and noise wasn’t horrible there but definitely noticeable

Have you ever seen the New York Mets.?

I think it’s a perfect location because Messi and the Inter Miami team has international notoriety now and any internationals who want to see the MLS action can fly into MIA and be a short connection away to the stadium.

Love how the city GAVE this public land at NO BID, and they call having a bunch of grass a park. If the renderings are even half accurate, that’s exactly what we will get. 50 acres of grass in searing south fla heat. Bravo city of miami officials

They would have “given” it to you if you had proposed a realistic plan.

Some people whine and complain, and some people put their money where their mouth is.

Isn’t that what a golf course is?

Can’t wait to hang out with all those people( in the rendering) sitting on that grass in the *park* at noontime with not one tree in sight… Ah yes, sunburn oasis! Lol

make the easier and quickest access to rail station. Wide pedestrian bridges and excellent lighting.

That’s exactly what Miami needed, another great golf course taken out and another stadium built with commercial retail. That’ll make this place more livable. Give me a break.

That area would have been great for a new terminal for MIA by extending the airport apron to the east.

Never mind LeJeune Road running right in between. Silliest idea next to moving MIA to Homestead because you want more supertalls.

Have you heard of a tunnel like the one in FLL airport running under the runway and taxiway?

anonymous

thats not a tunnel in FTL. Its the airport that is raised above ground
