Foundation Permit Issued Yesterday For One Brickell Site

A foundation permit is now active for the One Brickell site, after being issued yesterday.

The permit allows for excavation, piles, and site and soil improvement, with a value estimated at $1.5 million. It was approved November 21, and issued November 28.

A master building permit allowing for vertical construction of the 506-unit One Brickell Tower 2 was approved for the same property on November 10, but hasn’t yet been pulled by the contractor.

John Moriarty is listed as the contractor on both permits.

Both permits are for work at 77 Southeast 5th Street.

Yes, with a large-scale promenade and amphitheater / event space on ground level for enjoying the views. Like the new one posted about today in Coconut Grove.

What happened with that excavation there? Didn’t they find another indigenous circle?

About time, another fine addition to the Miami River.

Another Related eyesore, which along with Icon Brickell, bookends what should have been an elegant gateway to Brickell, comparable to what the Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower are to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.

There’s still another gateway to Brickell if you want to try to do something better – it’s the corner of 8th street and sw 3rd Avenue, and it’s where most visitors and residents enter Brickell.

There’s a few low rise old strip malls that seem out of place now. You could make a few grand statement buildings there, visible from all of Miami and those coming, going or passing by.
