Full Plans For Genting’s Proposed Marina At Resorts World Miami

Genting is preparing to build a 50-slip marina at the Resorts World site, but the process could take years.

To gain approval for the marina, Genting faces the following hurdles, according to the Herald:

  • The city of Miami, which owns the bay bottom, must approve a lease or agreement for the property
  • Miami-Dade County environmental regulators must approve a transfer of 42 boat slips from a third party property on the Miami River, which has never been done before
  • Pass extensive environmental reviews, which could take years of study

The Miami River Commission reviewed the plan last week, and voted to endorse it.

With so much coastline and such a huge opportunity for local industry, it makes sense that we continue to add dock space when available. I welcome these developments, regardless if it is attached to a new RE development or not.

To getting approval for the marina Genting faces the following hurdles, according to the Sarcastic Herald

1-pay millions in bribes to a corrupt politician, and the difficulty of this task is to find one ( only one) corrupt politician in Miami

2- spent large sum of money in “environmental studies”

3-fight several and expensive frivolous lawsuits coming from environmentalist to people that do not want the 15 ft boat on the marina to block their view

4-several environmental activists that opose 42 boats in an area where there are hundreds including cruise ships

5-spend millions in a biological research to study the possibility of relocate a very comun class of sea urchin that refuses to move to the keys afraid of being attacked by the conks

6- wait for the next glaciar to melt with the global warming to be sure that the 42 boats are going to be there and not across from Miami international airport

Let’s hope it gets built, one day by the end of 2025…

The only thing get build on time is Melo’s buildings that help to change a creepy neiborghood 15 years ago in to a nice living area ( I don’t work for Melo) I recognize they do changed the area
