America’s biggest mall continues to move towards the start of construction in Miami.
American Dream Miami is moving “full speed ahead,” a lobbyist and lawyer for developer Triple Five told the Herald. That includes the indoor skiing portion, he added.
Bids are due later this month for a state contract to extend the Turnpike, adding capacity. The county is also moving forward with a sewage project to the site.
A site plan still hasn’t been submitted to the county, but experts say a project of this magnitude takes time to design.
In total, the project will include 7.2 million square feet with towers as tall as 50 stories. It will include retail, restaurants, the world’s largest indoor ski slope, a walk-through aquarium, a skating rink, an ice-climbing wall, live theater venues for Russian ballet and Chinese acrobats and 2,000 hotel rooms.
In New York, the developer is also building American Dream Meadowlands. That project is near 85 percent completion, with opening set for September.
