Gary Nader is asking Miami Dade College to dismiss Related Group from the bidding for 520 Biscayne.
Related, Miami Dade College, and Bilzin Sumberg attorney Suzanne Amaducci-Adams have violated the “cone of silence” required during the bidding process, Nader’s attorney wrote in a letter.
Nader’s contention is based on a memo issued by the college last week in which it was revealed that Amaducci-Adams has had contact on multiple occasions with Related president Lissette Calderon. Amaducci-Adams is advising the college on the bidding process.
In addition to violating the cone of silence, Nader is alleging impropriety based on “previously hidden relationships” between Bilzin Sumberg and Related. Those relationships were not disclosed until recently.
Gregg Covin, who is part of a team bidding for the property, told TNM that he just wants the bidding process to continue. “I spent the weekend preparing a submittal with info about my project financing and proposed construction timeline that MDC has requested me to submit by this Wednesday,” Covin said. “While other proposers are bickering and fighting I hope that MDC realizes that my team and I are continuing to diligently work on the project.”
