Gazit Gets Demolition Permit Across From Brickell City Centre, Planning New Tower At Max Density

An Israeli developer has been issued a demolition permit at a property across from Brickell City Centre where they plan to build a new tower at max density .

Developer Gazit Horizons now appears to be working to get permission to build as dense a tower as possible on the site, records show.

A demolition permit was moved to active status by the developer on November 3, according to Miami building department records.

Approval of the permit was completed by the city on October 26, after nearly eight months of review.

The BG Group is the demolition contractor.

Gazit is now looking to go through Miami-Dade County rather than the City of Miami for approval of the new tower, according to a letter from the developer’s attorney.

Miami-Dade generally allows more intense development than the city for properties that are near transit.

Gazit had previously said they wanted to build at 48 stories, which is the maximum permitted under City of Miami zoning rules.

Gazit also recently told investors that it has acquired another property in Brickell with 262 apartments for $102 million.

The demolition of the current building can’t happen soon enough!

Yes! So tired of walking by this building and having to hold my nose from the urine stench from the homeless who treat this property as their personal WC.

Oh no not the homeless. How dare they get in your way.

They’re not actually in the way, it’s just the overwhelming piss smell that’s in the way. Try walking by that corner and then let me know if you enjoy it.

Breathe thru your mouth, problem solve!

Well why didn’t I think of that? Thanks! Let’s just cede all the unused private property and let people urinate wherever they desire. Winning!

“Oh no not the homeless. How dare they get in your way.”

Why don’t you take them to your house and support them and help with their addictions and mental problems???

It’s like all those people that oppose non controlled border and illegal immigrants…
But none of them sponsor a family of illegal immigrants and support them !!

In order to solve all the problems created by politicians regarding homeless and open border’s chaos , it’s necessary to send all of them ( the homeless and the illegals, not the politicians) to states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, where rich white liberals live or send them to the highest income zip code areas … problem will be solve in 7 days or less ! 🙄

I mean, Heaven forbid you become homeless one day. That’s real sympathetic thinking of you. Instead of complaining about homeless people in your way, why don’t you just walk around them and/or ignore them? You don’t even have to look at them. Then your day carries on and off you are to save the world. There, problem is solved.

I am sympathetic to homeless people, I really am. But do you honestly think it’s ok that a few of them use this property as their toilet?

karma is going to be a b*tch one of these days in your future. And it may extend to a few of your loved ones as well.

For complaining about urine smell? Get off your high horse.

Tower looks beautiful in these renderings

Very good. This region is the best for getting denser, as almost everything can be done on foot in the surroundings, using the car only for exceptional situations.

That’s a hot corner with the traffic coming from cross the bridge and pedestrians trying to get to underline and Publix

Shade trees, undergrounded utility poles, and better street lighting would be nice.

I like how the first rendering makes the towers around it taller than what it is. In regards to this tower, it’s excellent news. They’re advertising a gym so hopefully it’s 24 hour fitness. If not, an AMC movie theatre would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I live in Brickell so I can take the metro rail to Kendall for work to save some shekels…like most of us who live in Brickell

On the corner of 2 very busy one-way streets. Traffic will be a hassle. Loading will also be tough on that small site. County zoning approval is no panacea.

That corner will soon be a shit show of traffic

Good. Only dead cities have no traffic.

Anonymous

There’s a middle ground between no traffic and a shit show. Hopefully the city can figure something out to reach that middle ground.

Fortunity you won’t be affected by any of that.

Everyone driving by will be affected by newly accessing cars

I believe that the worst traffic problem in the region is the waiting time for the opening and closing of the lift bridges, so that a few can circulate with their sailboats, to the detriment of many that are stuck in traffic. But this bridge operation also has its charm. Kind of like the futility of the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace, it’s ridiculous, but it’s beautiful at the same time.
