Genting is about to begin renovation of the historic Boulevard Shops, according to recent filings.
Resorts World Miami, LLC, the Genting subsidiary that owns the property, filed for a construction permit for the project earlier this summer. The company also filed a Notice Of Commencement in July.
According to the filing, the 20,000 square foot building will become a ‘recreational facility,’ but that category encompasses a range of potential uses. Total cost of the renovation is estimated at $2.5 million, with BDI Construction listed as the contractor.
Brokers have been marketing the property for lease since late last year.
Across the street, Melo Group is building a 497-unit project called Melody, while Related Group will soon begin sales for a 60-story condo tower called Auberge Residences.
