Glass Bottom Gondolas At Hard Rock Stadium Will Be Ready For First Riders This Week In Time For Super Bowl

The gondola system at Hard Rock Stadium will open in time for the Super Bowl next week, according to the AP.

The gondolas will have glass bottoms to allow for a better view of the Super Bowl festivities below.

A ride will last 20 minutes, and run the length of the Hard Rock property’s south side. The gondolas will be 90 feet above ground.

The Dolphins have previously said the system will cost around $3 million, to be built by Austrian ski lift builder Doppelmayr.

Ticket prices for the ride have not been revealed.

Glass bottom will allow you to have a great view of the parking lot. Can’t wait to take in the world famous Miami Gardens skyline.

peej

The route goes over the Tennis Complex & should provide unique views above the courts during the Miami Open, so why not have glass bottoms?

But overall–yes, mostly parking lots…

Anonymous

yes. stunning. can’t wait.

marc

What are the tables for? Lines of coke?

Anonymous

unfortunately, the pole is too low

marc

They weren’t thinking, could’ve been a complete experience.

Look marc, I gotta have something to role my blunt on while I’m up there.

true

Table is there to limit the amount of weight placed on the center of that glass bottom panel, so the user only walks on the edges of the glass.

Anonymous

Total waste of a foolish project

Anonymous

mass transit for a parking lot. you can’t expect their visitors to … walk!

Anonymous

What a waste…

Looks like a cheap ice cream parlor inside

Anonymous

So they’re going to be used once an week at the most.

There is the Miami Open Tennis Tournament for two weeks in March; along with soccer matches, concerts and other events. They spent $355 million to upgrade the stadium; if they want to spend $3 million more on this and charge people to use it – not a problem.

Think of all the economic impact loss from not having a high end casino in downtown Miami – just from the super bowl weekend alone. It is all going to Hard Rock monopoly.

Anonymous

They prefer you patronize Wynwood and leave it at that.

Anonymous

This is actually pretty cool and even though this gondola is just an attraction, it could be used as a viable public transit option for a lot cheaper and take way less time to build. At least in the mean time, I think the county should look into this for some of the smart corridors as a temporary fix. Also you’d have a great view of the city

Anonymous

It should be extended to Wynwood and South Beach.

Anonymous

Will it connect to MetroMover?

Anonymous

Will your brain ever think of sensical questions?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

………but why?

Anonymous

What if I suddenly have to pee while riding this thing?

Anonymous

Golden showers here I come…

All those bars inside would make me feel like i’m in prison

Anonymous

They’re there to keep you from committing suicide from being bored to death.

The views of Miami Gardens and Carol City are so worthy of this endeavor. I’m so proud of the genius who thought of this…

Rem

So it’s a glass bottom gondola…..with a table in the middle that blocks the view of the glass bottom?

Anonymous

I can already smell the 🤢🤮

Anonymous

Why?

Anonymous

what a waste!!!

Anonymous

Big time Cheesy🧀!

Anonymous

Please think of another adjective. That cheesy word is so midwest. It is definitely NOT a Miami word. Besides, it’s so non-descriptive…

Anonymous

Damn… you burst his bubble!

Anonymous

I’d rather get my kicks by going to the casino up the road.
