Glass Installed At 138-Unit Vida Edgewater

Glass has been installed at Vida Residences, which is under construction in Edgewater.

Vida Residences is planned to rise nine stories and include 138 condo units.

The developer of the project obtained $38.5m in construction financing last year, according to Commercial Observer.

Kobi Karp is the architect. The developer is Urbana.

I don’t. The lack of massing (i.e., breaking up the building envelope) looks no better than a Daytona Beach motel circa 1966. Random vertical columns and some spider webs up where the elevator shafts are don’t change anything.

I’m more focused on street life activation, liner units, human scale, retail activation, and roof activation.

These buildings tend to age very well and are very sustainable.

So great to see not just another giant box. This should be a model for lots in Edgewater between the bay and Biscayne Blvd. Would really help transform the neighborhood
