Guitar-Shaped Hotel At Hard Rock Nearly Topped Off (Photos)

At the Seminole Hard Rock, a tower that is being called “One Of World’s Most Recognized Landmarks” is nearly topped off.

The tribe is spending $1.5 billion on a massive expansion plan, including new casino, convention, and hotel space.

A hotel in the shape of a guitar is the highlight of the expansion. The 36-story, 450-foot tower is close to topping off and now the tallest building in the area, visible for miles.

The design is interesting and appealing…. The more destinations within south florida the better. They should put solar panels on all that roof realestate..

I love this design! I only wished it would have completed the entire look of a guitar! No doubt this will bring more business up to the Broward County area with more business, tourists, and locals will go up there. The nightlife is not that great when I visited in 2016 yet that could hopefully change. Thinking in broad terms, combine this with Sawgrass, Metropica, American Dream mall, Doral, and all the suburbs that are making the next big thing, and we will have a truly sprawling metropolis. Hopefully it is better than LA cause over here traffic has destroyed the quality of life. We need public transit over there to prevent that from happening.

Shhh, it’s blasphemy to praise anything outside of Brickell, Midtown, Wynwood, etc., on this website. LOL

“sprawling metropolis” this is our problem, nothing to praise.

All metropolis are sprawl. Even cities like Portland and Lexington with urban growth boundaries can’t fight it. Simply, it’s an inevitable fact of urbanization. It’s just as the OP said, whether access to quality transit is present.

I like it. It’s a casino, not an office building, therefore it should have a fun and unique design.

I see it from Tri-Rail. Love or hate it, the building makes quite an imposition.

These Seminoles are not messing around unlike Miami who just say f**k Tallahassee and let Genting commence with building a resort casino.

Where’s the glazing?

Also, the render posted is not accurate—this project has been VE’d aplenty.

Agree. Glazing should have been installed halfway up the tower by now….Now the glazing is months behind. looks like they had to set up temporary perimeter barriers to keep the interior work going and dry…I wonder what happened..

I asked the same question a while back. Someone mentioned to me who has knowledge of the project, that the Glazing that was ordered and delivered was the wrong one! and they had to redo the entire glazing order. They say it has put the project months behind schedule. Wouldn’t want to be the person who made that mistake

Glazing is on site now and should start very soon

Are they going to accelerate the glazing schedule? 24hr shifts to make up for lost time?? Owner has deep pockets if anyone can do it they can..

Go after the owner because the contractor messed up….. Great advice, Sally!

Happy to see this building is looking exactly like its renderings, but here is something I do not get. They actually shut down all the night clubs, bars , and comedy clubs for TWO YEARS for this to be built. Why could they not do it in stages is beyond me.

Maybe they didn’t want drunks wondering onto the construction site. Just a guess.

Wrong guess. Try again.

Thanks for your positive comments about the guitar tower. This is Seminole Gaming spokesperson Gary Bitner. The tower expansion is going up on the site where Seminole Paradise shops, restaurants and clubs were located, so phased construction was not possible. The casino is going strong and we have opened a new Event Center for a full line up of concerts and other shows through 2019. The Hard Rock Live arena has been razed and is being rebuilt as a larger, theater-style venue.

Thank you for your reply it is much appreciated. Will the same bars and nighclubs, such as Wet Willies, Passion, etc, reopen once the tower is completed?
