Howard Stern, who is one of the most influential broadcasters in America with an audience of millions, has begun hosting his show from here.
Stern began hosting his show from his Palm Beach home in mid-April, but hasn’t officially announced the move.
It is the first time ever that Stern has broadcast from Florida.
Stern had a replica of his New York studio built in Palm Beach (only the floor is different), keeping the move hidden for weeks. The secrecy didn’t last long, with an on-air mention that he is in Florida yesterday noticed by Reddit users, who also pointed out the studio changes seen in video clips.
The radio host paid $52 million for his Palm Beach home in 2013, but said that he remained in New York in order to be able to interview star guests who may not come to Florida. Stern has been conducting interviews remotely since the pandemic.
If the move is permanent, Stern will join the surging numbers of New Yorkers moving here for a superior lifestyle and lower taxes. His tax bill will likely drop by millions if he stays here most of the year.
