Hundreds Line Up In Overtown For Worldcenter Jobs

Ahead of a commission vote next week on creating a Community Development District for Miami Worldcenter, the developers of the project held a job fair yesterday in Overtown.

Nearly 500 residents of the area showed up, according to the developers. Those living in the Southeast Overtown/Park West and Omni Community Redevelopment areas had first priority, followed by the Overtown community, and then priority zip codes within the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County.

If approved, the CDD would allow the developers to use direct their property taxes to pay for infrastructure improvements and issue bonds.
