Installation Of Another Mural Underway At New 21-Story CitizenM In Brickell

A new mural installation is underway at the under-construction 21-story CitizenM hotel in Brickell.

The murals are said to be a permanent installation.

Artist Jen Stark, who was born in Miami but is based in Los Angeles, created different works for each façade of the building, with the piece collectively known as Cosmic Connection, according to her website.

Stark said she drew inspiration from Miami’s colors, underwater sea life, and the cosmos.

The work is also said to be inspired by citizenM’s “innovative and playful brand personality,” she said.

The photos also show a rooftop pool is nearing completion.

Opening of the hotel is scheduled for autumn, according to CitizenM. Reservations are not yet being accepted.

The most tacky looking building in brickell, and they still haven’t open the sidewalks up yet.

I live at Nine Mary Brickell and let me tell you I’ve never seen a slower crew, would be shocked to see this open in 2021.

I can’t believe how long its taking, that sidewalk blocked off is a crime!…finish it already!!!

Same here. I pass by everyday and I feel that the developer just wants to use that sidewalk even after completion until the permit expires or something.

Lets file a class action for such pathetically slow and dangerous sidewalk closure…

Why?.. it’s not like hundreds of people are walking near that building on that sidewalk daily.

someone please start a petition on mural replacement asap

Which one? How about every mural on this stretch? Hell, replacing them will advertisements as a mini Times Square would look better.

haha. i literally made a comment like this elsewhere. As Joe Biden would say, look fat, this building is a dog faced pony soldier. Can we agree on that? Brickell Heights and the SLS Lux have a more streamlined, modern approach with the colorful lines. This abomination is hideous, out of place and an eye sore at best.

Based on many reviews and complaints that i’ve seen, public opinion seems to be on our side. A petition of removal could take precedence.

Like most spots in Brickell, the food was average. You paid for the ambiance/instagram photo

Perricone’s was the most consistent restuarant next to Rosinella’s. It was excellent comfort food. Always packed for lunch, had a great happy hour too.
Steve had a great thing there.
Since this pandemic, it seems that they haven’t been able to keep a stable kitchen staff, and my last 3 experiences were the worst at Perricones, and I”ve dined there since 1992.

Yeah they aren’t that good lately and noticed most restaurants or bars have new staff.

I loved the original Perricone’s for the cozy ambience and the Sunday jazz brunch. The new location has less ambience than an Olive Garden and no Sunday brunch. Hard pass. Arrivederci, Perricones.

They should light the murals up… so we can see them. They would add electricity to the entertainment district. Times Square????

This is the perfect sample. Architects from NY shouldn’t be designing in Miami. Gensler’s big mistake is exposed.

Tacky Billboards

Hopefully the billboard will not be used for ads. Disgraced ex-commissioner Marc Sarnoff loved
tacky billboards on buildings. Duh. The billboard companies paid him.

So many things were made wrong in this small building design. Hire LOCAL architects instead of NY mediocre arch firms

I think the one by Miami Worldcenter is a lot nicer and blends in with the surrounding plan much better but this is fine too.
