The owner of property near Brickell’s Metrorail station wants to build a mixed-use project integrated with the station.
Southside Place LLC wants the county to expand a Rapid Transit Zone to include their property. Doing so would transfer control of zoning regulations and the approval process from the city to the county and allow for more intense use.
According to the resolution, the project abuts the county Metrorail and Metromover station. In reality, Southside Park sits in between, but the agreement states that it will remain a park in perpetuity.
