Kushner Hires Contractor For 36-Story Tower At 2000 Biscayne, Construction Permit Approved

The city of Miami has fully approved a construction permit for Kushner Companies’ 2000 Biscayne apartment tower.

The developer also appears to have hired Balfour Beatty Construction as the general contractor for the tower.

Records show that the construction permit was approved in early July. Last week, the permit was modified to add Balfour Beatty as the general contractor.

The construction permit was first applied for in July 2019, and took two years to approve.

The 2000 Biscayne tower is planned to rise 36 stories, or 408 feet above ground. The FAA has approved the height.

It will include 393 rental apartments, 455 parking spaces, and 4,569 square feet of retail.

Kushner is also planning two more towers across the street at 1900 Biscayne with another 756 apartments. There doesn’t appear to be any construction permit pending for those buildings yet, however.

Good, biscayne hasn’t had a new high rise directly on it in years.

This area needs more high rises and density, which is coming but needs to come faster

That lot north of the omni needs to be developed, been like that for decades.

yes, it needs more density, this area still has a lot of empty lots, I don’t know why an area with so much potential has not attracted more development.

Because developers are too busy building up Doral, Miramar and Pembroke Pines.
People want to be near the Palmetto and Turnpike. They prefer highway tolls and views of trash dumps

Even mid-rises will suffice along Biscayne Boulevard, comparable to those from the last boom. Any high-rises here will just have hideous parking pedestals covered in sad excuses of art, or span along an entire block killing any street interaction. Leave high-rises to south of I-395, and let this area be a transition between Downtown and the Upper East Side.

dude its a rental. Not sure what you are expecting here lol. If they made it a “building” thats imaginative thered be people on here complaining that the rents are too high. This is a solid infill project for the area that will bring more people and spur development in the area

A rental building that is 36 stories high in an up and coming neighborhood. Yes, he/she has a point. The building is ugly and should not even be built if it’s going to look like hell.

“The building is ugly and should not even be built if it’s going to look like hell”

That’s what I said about some people’s shoes.. “the shoes are ugly and they should not even be worn if they’re going to look like hell.” Just walk around bare feet.

lol…

Idk maybe but Balfour Beatty is not your usual contractor that hires basic subs. They implement schedule techniques and a lot of other stuff to assure the building is built on schedule.

They are terrible. Just look how long their recent project took.

Balfour Beatty? I think you are confusing them with someone else. They are top notch.

the permit took 2 years to be approved, with so much slowness, how can miami compete with so many emerging cities around the world?

At least we approve new developments. In places like San Francisco they jump at the chance to shoot down any new proposals no matter how small the project.

Yeah that is funny right? Would it be funny if we made a similar joke with some snide stereotype of an individual from Overtown or Liberty City?

I guess the new rules are some minorities are more equal than others. Disgusting.

The black people who were forced into and made Overtown and Liberty City battled with racist forces that you can’t even begin to understand. Check out the history of these places or stfu!
