Legacy Miami Worldcenter is officially getting underway, according to documents filed with Miami-Dade’s Clerk of Courts.
A Notice of Commencement was recorded on August 6 stating that some of the work now beginning includes demolition, earthwork, augercast piles, sheet piling, dewatering, waterproofing and cast-in-place foundations.
A separate Notice of Commencement was filed on the same day stating that construction on a new 50-story tower was underway.
Moss & Associates is listed as the contractor on both filings.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday.
The 50-story Legacy tower is planned to rise 681 feet above ground, or 691 feet above sea level, making it the second tallest at Worldcenter.
It will include 310 condo units, which are already 100% sold out. There will also be a hotel and medical wellness center.
A dramatic Singapore-inspired cantilevered pool and seven-story rooftop atrium will top the building, making it stand out in Miami’s skyline.
