The building that once housed Mekka nightclub has safety violations and will be bulldozed shortly.
An affiliate of Worldcenter, the developer that owns the building, agreed to demolish it after building inspectors declared it unsafe. Miami Worldcenter’s Nitin Motwani signed an order on June 8 agreeing to raze it within 60 days. That gives them until August 8.
By signing the compliance agreement, Worldcenter avoided an appearance before the city’s Unsafe Structures Panel.
Records show that a demolition permit was applied for on June 23. Worldcenter PR officials tweeted yesterday that groundbreaking and demolition are coming soon.
