MIA Gets First El Al 787 Dreamliner, A380 Flight To Munich

The winter schedule is now kicking in at Miami International Airport, with new flights and service upgrades.

Notably, Lufthansa’s first A380 flight between Miami and Munich began on October 28.

The flight will be operated daily until spring, when the A380 will be switched to the Miami-Frankfurt route (which has been downgraded to an A340-600 for winter). During the summer, Miami to Munich is not served.

Miami has three daily A380 flights beginning this week through spring, including service on British Airways to London and an Air France to Paris.

MIA also welcomed El Al’s new 787-9 dreamliner yesterday. The plane is an upgrade in passenger comfort compared to the airline’s 777 that had been flying to Miami for the past year, with features including extra large windows and higher humidity levels. In business class, every seat has aisle access and lie-flat seats.

El Al flies the Miami to Tel Aviv route three times per week.

Too bad AA is making the opposite investment in MIA. They’re using Miami as their base to launch the 737-MAX aka 737-miserable. They also removed a flagship first 77W on the MIA-LHR flight and gave the slot to BA (who now operates 3 of the 4 one world frequencies between MIA-LHR)

AA still operates a daily 777-300ER between Miami and London.

He said they removed “a” 77W from the route. Used to be two daily departures, now it’s only one, with BA taking over the other.

Miami International Airport just keeps growing, keep up the good work. When will we have a non-stop route from Miami International Airport to Tokyo?

Also, here are some other domestic route suggestions from/to Miami International Airport: Portland, Maine, Portland, Oregon, Burlington, Vermont, & Lexington, Kentucky (American Airlines goes to all those airports from different airports/cities). Miami International Airport, bring back service to both Salt Lake City and Tulsa (if there’s still a market or if it makes financial sense). Miami, also some international connecting cities/routes from/to: Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, St. John’s, Halifax & Saskatoon (all airports/cities in Canada).

They should also make the following routes… (All American unless i say otherwise.) MIA-FRA, MIA-JHB, MIA-YVR, MIA-KEF, ANA-MIA TO NRT, MIA-PEK, MIA-PVG. These routes would help Miami but i am surprised at the rate they are moving.

Smaller international airports in Florida could handle domestic flights better than MIA, and connected with Brightline.

Also, bring back service from Miami to: Trenton, Milwaukee, Buffalo, & Providence by Frontier. Honestly, Frontier needs to expand their presence at Miami International Airport.

Frontier re-launched Trenton and Long Island Mac Arthur but moved the flights back to FLL.

As someone who frequents the Trenton flights (I’m from Princeton originally), the loads were much better from FLL in previous years than MIA last year. Flew home for thanksgiving for $120 RT last year, it’s over $300 this year.
