MIA On Track For Another Record Year As Airlines Continue Adding New Flights

For the third year in a row, Miami International Airport is on track to set a new record for traffic, with passenger numbers up nearly 8% through the first three quarters of 2015.

The airport continues to add flights and airlines at an impressive rate. This week alone, several carriers launched new services or increased existing flights. They include:


Austrian Airlines first ever flights between Miami and Vienna:

Turkish Airlines flights to Istanbul, for the first time in over a decade:

British Airways first ever A380 flight to MIA (six white rhinos from South Africa were aboard)

Swiss increasing Zurich-Miami flights to double daily:

Virgin Atlantic increasing London-Miami flights to double daily:

Frontier adding a Las Vegas flight at MIA:

Lufthansa’s added a flight to Munich, in addition to a year-round A380 on the Frankfurt-Miami route

Return of Miami-Helsinki on Finnair:

Air France bringing the A380 back for daily service this winter, starting this week:
