Miami Airport Close To Securing Flights To Serbia

A deal is near between Miami and Air Serbia for regularly scheduled flights, according to Ex-Yu Aviation News.

Miami Dade Aviation’s Emir Pineda was in Serbia last week for talks with the airline.

Pineda was interviewed by national broadcaster RTS, where he said the flights could be announced later this year or early next year.

The service would run between Miami and Belgrade, and operate two or three times weekly.

Air Serbia has a fleet of just four long-haul Airbus A330s, and Miami would be the airline’s third North American destination, after New York and Chicago.

I believe GOL is starting nonstop flights to Belem from Miami in June. I can’t wait to hear Saudia’s announcement. Unfortunately, I know Asia is off the table for now.

Well there’s the obligatory, “we need to rebuild the entire airport” post.

Not necessarily. When it was first reported that MIA was in talks with Air Serbia, the article also stated that they were in talks with Air India.

We want flights to Japan but we get Serbia instead…… who goes to Serbia? Not even Europeans go there😳

Yes, a Tokyo flight has been the dream for decades. In eastern Europe, I would also like to have Prague, but the flight to Belgrade is positive and we should feel elated that they’re coming.

no sane person would want to vacation in serbia. at the very least it could probably serve as a lay over spot to connect to asia in general.

Belgrade is a very underrated city, much more energetic and fun than people seem to realise. But yes, direct flights to Japan would be a godsend.

There is no reason why we shouldn’t have multiple non stop flights to Asia by now. Whoever runs the airport isn’t doing a good job.

why can’t miami focus on solidifying its latam network by getting direct flights to cities like Puerto Vallarta, Santa Cruz (Bolivia) and other Argentinian cities?

Anonymous

1) BOA flies direct to santa cruz
2) not enough demand for direct flights from Miami to the other destinations you mentioned

Finally. I can’t wait to have direct flight from Miami to Belgrade let’s go Serbia – USA.

For stupid people that they don’t know anything about Serbia, Serbia and Belgrade in general is very good destination to visit and learn about history and culture… food , nightlife… and many more … plus is so close to a lot of European country..

Don’t be surprised if Aeroflot returns in the near future to Miami due to the excellent relations between Russia and the USA now.

Excellent. I can’t wait. It will be easier than TPA to JFK where the flights in the evening rarely line up.

Miami Winning! Thanks to the Lord and his earthly representatives that have turned America back towards Jesus. Matthew 5:5 – Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
