Miami Beach Board Unanimously Approves Arquitectonica Design For Convention Center

Miami Beach’s Design Review Board voted unanimously yesterday to approve Arquitectonica and Fentress Architects design for the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The newly approved design replaces a previous plan for the Convention Center by Rem Koolhaas, which was scrapped following the election of mayor Philip Levine last year.

Miami Beach’s commission appeared to be enthusiastic about the new design at a presentation last month. If the commission grants final approvals as scheduled, construction is on track to begin by the end of 2015.
