Miami Getting New Flights To Frankfurt & Orange County, California

Two new flights have been announced for Miami International Airport, which is continuing to see record demand this year.

Condor Airlines will begin nonstop flights to Frankfurt, Germany, beginning in May 2024.

The flight will initially operate three times per week, with A330neo aircraft. Tickets are already available for sale.

American Airlines announced a new flight from Miami to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California using a Boeing 737.

Service will begin on January 4, and tickets are already available for purchase.

AA has been expanding flights from Miami to the West Coast, with new service to Sacramento and Portland recently announced.

Great to see Condor entering the South Florida market again. They previously served FLL but MIA is obviously a better choice. Let’s continue to hope Miami sees more airlines and break another passenger record.

With that being said, I do wish the MDAD starts planning to build a new terminal sooner rather than later. One dedicated for long haul, international airlines.

It’s great to see Condor in Miami again. However, we need nonstop flights from Miami to eastern Asia (Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul, etc.) to solidify Miami as a true global hub.

Yes, we need a new international concourse, preferably east of Concourse J, to handle all these international carriers coming to MIA.

Miami airport is a shame. Cheap looking. Poor public transportation. International passengers are laughing at us. Sad.

Why the downvotes? It’s true. Our Airport is gross compared to Lauderdale’s and almost every other one in the nation

Have you seen most American international airports? At least we don’t have goblin invaders camping out like in O’Hare.

Not true.

Any demolition and new build will look even cheaper if it’s by Arquitectonica.

MIA has MetroRail to Brickell and main parts of Miami, Grove, Gables, Dadeland.
MIA has TriRail.
Miami Beach is a separate city and wants nothing to do with Miami residents or transients from abroad/ visiting, etc…. unless in a Setai SUV.
Most people are of a certain place in their minds and hate public transportation – IMO.

Tokyo will hopefully happen soon. It’s been a topic that has been discussed for several years. Eventually, I’m certain it’ll happen but I don’t know when exactly. Just hopeful it’ll be soon.

For Seoul or Taipei, there has been rumors that Korean Air was planning to join OneWorld. That alone would be beneficial for Korean Air to start Miami service but we shall wait and see if that will ever happen. Taipei is a little bit of a long shot in my opinion, I think Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific would make more sense. Cathay Pacific is owned by Swire and we know Swire is building here in Miami. They’re also part of OneWorld so that’ll help too. Only problem is the aircraft. They need an aircraft that is efficient enough to make the journey and still make profit.

As for the terminal, going east of J may be a challenge and they already plan to expand J to the east, plus the fuel farm is there. If they find another place to put the fuel farm, for sure it’ll be a great place to put a terminal. However, I do think they will demolish E, F and G and build a new central terminal. The plans were to make it into a huge terminal with a mall inside of it and nine floors.

What plans? Everything has been conceptual and based on the concept, disappointing and waste of money, hence why they’re renovating instead.

Taipei ain’t happening; Chicoms are prepping to invade.

You would need a special type of jet to make it from Asia to Miami. They did an air freighter once with some seating. Funny because a jet can make the trip from Atlanta to Tokyo no problem but not Miami

Boeing’s new 777X, that hopefully will be in service soon, can do this easily. It has next generation General Electric engines that will be the most powerful and efficient in the industry by a long shot. Also, it has folding wings that expand to deliver more efficiency. The range will deliver even new direct routes that were never available before.

Condor had an Orlando-Frankfurt flight for years, until Lufthansa/United fully took it over. Unfortunately, now that route is served by a roulette of Lufthansa/United/Finnair/Austria, or whichever Star Alliance carrier wants to service it at the time. Same ticket price but very different levels of service!

We need more direct flights to major locations! This is great.

Good time slots to and from Orange County—departing at 8:30AM from Miami and returning from OC at 12:30PM.

Great alternative if you travel to San Diego, as current American flights are an evening flight going and a redeye returning.

We also need airlines to bring better planes to Miami. I recently flew first class to China and the plane was very old, it almost felt like flying coach.

There are NO Non-Stop Flights MIA to ANYWHERE in Mainland China. You have to stop in one of many connecting airports: DFW, LAX, JFK, ORD…etc. Unless you are flying AirChina or Cathay Cargo plane,w/stop over in Anchorage…and those are not available for “regular passengers”

I never said I flew direct. I had to make a stop in Frankfurt but the connection to and from Miami had the most updated planes.

Not a fan of Newport….snootiest bunch of people I’ve ever met….but as I posted already this will be a great option for those going to San Diego…yes, an hour drive but the time of these new flights in both directions is much better than the ones offered currently to SAN.
