Miami Now Officially Has An Alternate City Seal With A ‘Modern Design’

Miami has announced that it has approved an alternate city seal.

The newly approved seal has a “modern design” and “represents the diverse demographics of the City of Miami,” city officials announced.

Use of the alternate seal has been approved by the city commission, according to an April 3 press release.

The alternate seal was created by graphic designer Angel Acevedo, who is the creative director of ACVDO Co.  “Acevedo’s passion about the City of Miami community inspired him to renovate the look of the seal of the City,” the release said.

“The City of Miami is excited with the unveiled alternate City Seal,” the city release added.

Cool, I like both. The new is more energetic and fun. The old is classic and refined.

The old seal looks really good at bus stop stations. It works better when embossed on glass. I can see us using both depending on location.

The old seal should be used on all official paperwork, and the new one should be on city employees shirts and hats.

At least it doesn’t have a Miami Coin or Bitcoin Bull in it…

I like both seals, with the palm tree in the middle. However, the new one is more versatile, and does represent the city identity better.

Last time I checked, the City of Miami doesn’t have sand dunes with royal palms, or beaches.

They both look like coconut palms, which do sometimes grow symmetrical and without a curve.

Those are definitely coconut palms

Up there with PJ-boy Russell having the entire City Code revised to be gender neutral.

I visited Jungle Island last weekend…..much to my chagrin, the Liger was gone.
It’s pretty much my favorite animal. It’s like a lion and a tiger mixed… bred for its skills in magic.

Asking around, and Googling simultaneously, I learned that Ken Russell insisted that Jungle Island get rid of their big cats in 2014 or so.

Ken Russell is a dope.

Jordan that’s a cool animal. I’m happy to support this. Bring back Miamis big cats!

Ken Russell was an excellent commissioner. Miami needs more like him!

Every politician has their flaws… Overall, Russel was the best commissioner at the time (not saying much though, with Joe)

The Florida state flag too. It was outdated and the seal in the middle is too hard to remember or draw. It looks like the confederate flag that many close minded people use on their cars.

Clip Art neon. Who would’ve thought? Surely they considered a cafecito, flamingo or other trite Miami Vice frivolous nostalgia. The life span of this emblem is already dead. 2023-2023. I thought it was an April fools halfway through reading this.

Why stop at United States of America under the name. (I guess we need to be reminded of this in this ciudad.) Surely, we should add State of Florida and Planet Earth. Ridiculous.

Who knows what kind of palm is shown in the new seal, but the old one was definitely not a coconut palm. Very few of those rise straight up. Even fewer sport a tapered trunk, instead growing at a steady rate. The leaves here are frondose; on the coconut they’re pinnate. Definite: the base of a coconut palm leaf does not hug the upper end of the trunk for any extended length. Yup, it’s a royal palm.

Love the way that this guy thinks.

Personally, I love the old City of Miami Seal, and it is refreshing to see people thinking about improving things that have just been taken for granted for many years.

Cool, now update the city flag

Not Anonymous

I think that the tricolor is nice, it is visible, recognizable, and represents the history well, with the green for the Everglades, and the orange for the orange plantations that Julia Tuttle owned before the city was developed

I have no issue with the colors. But our flag could be more with the color usage than just copying the flag of India and putting a seal in the middle

I would have you know that the City’s flag predates the Indian flag by a few decades
