Miami Woman’s Club To Get Rooftop Lounge, Outdoor Restaurant

Miami’s Historic Preservation Board is scheduled to review a plan that calls for the renovation of the historic Miami Woman’s Club, while turning it into restaurant and lounge space.

The building was originally completed in 1930, but has been altered. Renderings show a restoration that would bring back the original look.

Under the proposal, the property would be turned into restaurant, lounge and ballroom space.

A new outdoor wood deck would be added in the rear of the property facing Biscayne Bay, while a rooftop lounge would be built on the sixth floor, currently empty.

MWC Development LLC is the developer. City staff recommend approval.

Can’t tell if the continuance of the Baywalk is a stipulation but if it isn’t it should be.

I agree it should be but we can dream of this one ever coming to fruition or perhaps when that part of the bay is under water

Most important question. What is that wooden deck in the rear they are taking about? Is That the missing Link that will connect pace park to Sea isle marina? If not for this tiny 200 ft break, the baywalk would have been one continuous stretch from unity Church to Miami Herald site, connecting pace park and Sea isle marina. Why hasn’t this happened years ago?

According to tax records it was built in 1925. I think it would be great to turn it into a Restaurant and Lounge, parking would be a little difficult but other than that a great location.

Scam at MWC

Total scam. Taxpayers got ripped off by ex-City Commissioner Joe Garcia and by architect Richard Heisenbottle. Architect dude took a massive fee and let the MWC building fall apart. New tenant just applied to kill all the trees.
